New vegan pizza Margherita Pomodori, with its perfect balance of tasty topping and crispy crust, has hit the nation’s freezers

New product promises Italian inspired fresh pizzeria taste, whilst still delivering great flavour and texture from its fully plant based recipe

GET ready to say ‘ciao’ to the UK’s first vegan frozen pizza from Dr.Oetker Ristorante that offers the fresh pizzeria taste, inspired by Italy; introducing Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza Margherita Pomodori.

The pizza features Ristorante’s signature thin, crispy crust and tomato sauce, topped with a melted, grated pizza topping, juicy sun-dried and cherry tomatoes, along with a basil “pesto style” garnish.

Pizza experts at Dr. Oetker worked hard to rustle up a recipe, also testing on a panel of vegans and flexitarians, to make sure the pizza’s plant-based formula delivers the perfect balance of soft, melted topping and crispy crust that makes a Ristorante pizza so deliciously satisfying.

An ever-increasing number of Brits are dabbling in different dietary requirements – this January alone saw a 17 per cent increase in the number of plant-based meals enjoyed in the UK* and in the last year there have been 42% more vegan frozen pizzas bought in retailers than the previous year**.

As with all Ristorante pizzas, cooking Ristorante’s vegan pizza is simple; preheat the oven then bake for 10-12 minutes at 220 °C / 200°C fan / Gas Mark 6. The Italian-style dish is perfect on its own, paired with a fresh side salad or some crispy wedges, and makes for an ideal weekday dinner or weekend treat.
