Launching a new brand can be a fragmented, costly process requiring a heavy investment in time and resources. A well-known manufacturer of leading FMCG sauce brands chose to commission a partnership with design specialists, NXL Design and packaging film suppliers, National Flexible to provide a joined-up approach for bringing their latest own-brand products to market.

NXL‘s Design Manager Phil Parkinson said, “We wanted to give a strong brand identity that would immediately highlight the products cultural origins to the consumer.”

“We used bold colour schemes and photography across the range. We made use of the foil film base to pick out specific details in the artwork, the overall effect was enhanced by the use of a spot matt lacquer in other areas of the print,” he continued. Having completed the design process with the end film production processes in mind, National Flexible were then ideally positioned to supply the film working from print-ready artwork files.

The close collaboration between the manufacturer, NXL Design and National Flexible ensured that the development costs for the entire project were significantly reduced and the speed to market increased.

The sauce sachets now feature prominently on the shelves of selected retail outlets and are selling well -proving their popularity with consumers. National Flexible’s ‘Zero-Zero-One’ approach to supplying the film continues to offer the sauce manufacturer ongoing cost benefits in addition.
