DS Smith Packaging has become the first corrugated packaging manufacturer in the UK to win accreditation under the Carbon Trust’s Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme (EEAS). This is an independent endorsement of DS Smith Packaging’s energy efficiency and approach to energy management. It recognises the company’s achievements in significantly reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. To achieve EEAS accreditation DS Smith Packaging needed to show that it is making real energy savings through management commitment, investment and energy efficiency measures. The standards are stringently monitored by a team of energy experts from the National Energy Foundation and results are moderated by the Energy Institute.
The Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme is the UK’s only independent award recognising achievements in reducing energy use by leading organisations in industry, commerce and the public sector. It currently has more than 200 accredited members.
