This month, Dunnet Bay Distillers, will launch a permanent new addition to its portfolio, Holy Grass Vodka Apple Edition. This brand new Edition is handcrafted in small batches blending the smooth, herbaceous notes of their original and critically acclaimed Holy Grass Vodka with the vibrant infusion of crisp apple. It is available to the trade directly from Dunnet Bay Distillers.
The distillery, which is located in the far north of Scotland and run by husband and wife team, Martin and Claire Murray, specialises in the most premium, hand-crafted spirits that celebrate local ingredients and botanicals. And, this new addition is no exception having been inspired by the abundance of apples in the garden of Martin’s grandad.
It beautifully balances the grassy sweetness of Holy Grass (a botanical known for its vanilla-like aroma) with the fresh, slightly tart essence of apples. On the palate, delicious juicy green apples take centre stage with a background of smooth vanilla notes bringing a gentle sweetness, whilst the finish leaves you with lasting notes of apple and vanilla. The result is a velvety smooth, aromatic vodka with a light, fruity finish, perfect for sipping neat, with lemonade, or to get creative with in cocktails.
Martin Murray, Co-Founder, says, “We launched our Holy Grass Vodka in 2016 as a tribute to Robert Dick, a legendary botanist from Tullibody, who lived in Thurso in the 1800s and discovered Holy Grass. It’s a spirit that really captures and celebrates the heritage of Caithness and its local botanicals and so we’re thrilled to be extending the Holy Grass portfolio with the launch of this new apple edition. It’s a deliciously crisp and sweet spirit that offers vodka lovers a completely new and fruity taste experience.”
