Distell Group has secured listings for a selection of its products from its portfolio of whisky and gin in over 300 Tesco stores across Scotland.
Tobermory 12, Black Bottle and Deanston Kentucky Cask whisky will now feature on the shelves of 319 Tesco outlets around Scotland, joining Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair which is already a popular item in the supermarket chain’s alcohol isles.
Deanston’s Kentucky Cask Single Malt is the latest edition to come out of the iconic Deanston Distillery and looks to break the boundaries of Single Malts. Matured in hand selected, first and second fill ex-bourbon casks, it brings a flavour of the Southern States to make the perfect pairing for a whisky & ginger.
The delicious Hebridean gin from Tobermory is made with 13 specially selected botanicals inspired by the Isle of Mull including juniper, elderflower and sweet orange peel. The gin includes a slash of spirit from the whisky stills to create a unique character for this award winning gin having fought off stiff competition to secure the Best Scottish Classic Gin at the World Gin Awards in 2020 – an amazing accomplishment after only being on the market for 6 months.
Released in early 2019, the 12 year-old single malt from Tobermory was launched in celebration of the distillery returning to life after a two year break. This expression has been peacefully slumbering in American oak casks for a dozen years prior to bottling, with well rounded notes of pear, peach and apple with a flash of orange peel, toffee and dates on the finish.
Finally, the 10 year-old expression from Black Bottle keeps brand traditions at its heart by having a strong Islay influence present in the liquid. With bursts of honey, fruit and vanilla aromas leading to tastes of sweet rich oak, soft fruits and smoky spiciness, this new age statement retains the delicate fruity notes of the 1998 release, whilst being a malty, woodier, tasting whisky.
Angeles Marin, UK Brand Manager at Distell Group said, “Following strong consumer interest in a number of the products included in our range, we are really pleased to have been able to secure over 300 top tier listings with one of Scotland’s leading supermarkets. These new Tesco listings bring our extensive offering of whiskies and gin to supermarket shelves up and down the country, which can be purchased in-store, online or via click and collect.”
Jill Sutherland, Buying Manager at Distell Group said, ““We are really proud to offer our customers a fantastic range of local Scottish food and drink; and launching these new local Gin and Whisky products will be a real boost to our customers and our Scottish suppliers.”
The new product listings join two other expressions currently listed in Tesco stores nationwide – Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair and Amarula Cream Liquor.
