Della Vite, the range of award-winning and sustainably produced Proseccos created by Chloe, Poppy and Cara Delevingne, has won its first national grocery listing with Sainsbury’s. The Della Vite Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G will be rolling out across 292 Sainsbury’s stores nationwide from 19th April 2022. Recognising the rise in consumer demand for premium Proseccos made from higher quality grapes, which has seen D.O.C.G Prosecco sales hit record levels, the Della Vite listing aligns with Sainsbury’s ambition to offer shoppers a wider and more varied choice.
Produced in the heart of the Valdobbiadene valley, Della Vite is on a mission to challenge and elevate consumer perceptions with a premium Prosecco, rooted in a commitment to quality and sustainability. Created by a third-generation wine-making family, the Della Vite Superiore D.O.C.G is made exclusively from hand-picked Glera grapes and offers a rich, EXTRA-DRY palate, with aromas of citrus blossom, olive, crostini and chamomile.
Combining the very best of traditional Italian winemaking, with modern technology, the Prosecco benefits from a longer fermentation period of 60 days, as opposed to the standard 30 days. This, combined with Della Vite’s unique yeast, which is cultivated on site at the winery, creates an elegant, smooth texture and longer finish. Alongside a commitment to quality, Della Vite’s sustainability standpoint means it is 100% vegan, with the wine filtered through ceramic systems and solar power used to operate the winery.
The Sainsbury’s listing comes less than two years following the brand’s launch, during which time it has secured a growing list of stockists in both the on and off trade, including independent retailers, wine specialists and top bars and restaurants, highlighting its role within the evolution of the Prosecco category as consumers look for a better-quality product. Della Vite will launch in Sainsbury’s as part of the retailer’s Future Brands programme – a scheme that aims to promote and support up-and-coming brands.
Clara Latham, General Manager at Della Vite said: “Winning our first national grocery listing is a landmark moment and we’re excited to be able to offer Della Vite to a wider audience across the UK. As one of the few branded Proseccos on the market, Della Vite has an exciting future ahead in educating and re-shaping consumer perceptions around how good Prosecco can really be. We’re also thrilled to be joining the Sainsbury’s Future Brands programme, which will open up a range of exciting ways we can activate both instore and online, maximising our partnership and really taking Sainsbury’s shoppers on the journey with us.”
Rosie Williams, Champagne & Sparkling Wine Buyer at Sainsbury’s said: “We’re delighted to be listing Della Vite across Sainsbury’s stores. We’re very aware of the changing consumer behaviour around Prosecco, both in terms of the increase in frequency of drinking occasions, as well as the demand for a higher quality offering. Della Vite is a premium Prosecco which will be great as we enter spring and summer.”
The Della Vite Superiore will be priced at £26.00.
