National Flexible, the Bradford-based film packaging specialists, have helped to brighten smiles with the supply of a printed flexible packaging film used in the production of sachets for the famous Beverley Hills Toothpaste brand.
The unusual application saw National Flexible’s technical team working closely with a well-known sachet machinery supplier to specify, test and produce a bespoke laminate film suitable for use on a multi-lane sachet packing machine, which was used to pack the sachets of the Beverley Hills Toothpaste.
The film needed to have excellent seal integrity, especially under pressure, as it was important that the sachets were able to deliver a measured dose of the toothpaste without any bursts or seal failures.
“We had to run extensive trials on the packing machine prior to commissioning to ensure that the film would stand up to the rigorous conditions,” said National Flexible’s Marketing Manager – Andy Smith.
“Not only did the film have to have the very best sealing properties, we were also challenged with making sure that our Print Team could match as closely as possible to the existing litho-printed cartons which are already well-recognised – despite the fact that we were working with a completely different substrate and different ink systems,” he added.
