As a business Civita’s experience in working with corn goes back generations. Today, Civita offers a nutritious, delicious and practical choice for consumers who are suffering from gluten sensitivity, as well as those who choose a gluten-free or multigrain diet, for health and lifestyle reasons. Civita provides a ‘closer to nature’ beneficial difference that sets their products apart from commercial foods which, in the company’s view, are sold by inflated marketing activity rather than true nutritional merit.

Tunde Ilmane-Melath, who heads up Civita’s  UK operations, explains: “We can keep costs and carbon footprint low by using our own GMO free raw materials, which are grown on our own plantations, using our own world-class technology, which won an innovation award in  2012. We also use our own distribution channels, allowing retailers to maximise their margin.”

All Civita’s products are made in a dedicated facility and are GMO Free, gluten free, egg free, dairy free  and  chemical free.

Civita’s retail products include 100% Corn pasta in different varieties, biscuits, corn flour, fine grits including polenta, culinary grits and extra virgin corn oil in different varieties.

For industrial customers Civita also supplies corn flour, corn oil in bulk, extruder grits, corn flake grits, brewery grits and corn germ press cake for pet food.

With Civita’s innovative technology, the company can produce 100% corn pasta, thus, maximising the health benefits of the corn as a rich source of Vitamins A, B, E and many minerals, which are good for the heart, help lower cholesterol andother health benefits.

“With our high standard product line,” Tunde Ilmane continues, “we are offering retailers the opportunity to exploit the potential of the fast growing free from and functional food market, while maximising their margin.”

To maximise the great margin-making sales opportunity on their new corn pasta range, Civita advises retailers to merchandise the corn pasta in the Free From aisles, covering the growing functional food market, as well as the main dry pasta section.

Civita have also produced a video showing the benefits of their products. To see it, look up the Civita article on www.grocerytrader.co.uk

To celebrate the UK launch, Civita held a Gluten Free dinner party on Wednesday 25th February at the Hungarian embassy in London for invited guests from major UK retail representatives and media.
