Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC UK), the fastest growing and no.1 UK manufacturer in Premium Treats[1] is adding to its already successful Fox’s Fabulous Half Coated Cookies and Chocolatey Rounds ranges with the launch of two new Dark Chocolate products: Fox’s Fabulous Half Coated Dark Chocolate Cookies and Fox’s Fabulous Chocolatey Dark Chocolate Rounds. From mid-July, these two new bold additions are a response to the growing demand from consumers for dark chocolate flavours within the biscuit category, which is currently worth £172M in Sweet Biscuits and showing YoY growth of +7%[2]. These new innovations are set to help retailers capitalise on this growing opportunity.

Fox’s Fabulous Cookies is the No.1 Big Cookie brand, worth £41.1M and driving significant YoY growth of +50%, outperforming the segment[3]. The new dark chocolate Fox’s Fabulous Cookies looks to build upon this success by introducing a deliciously rich offering to the range, with a generous layer of dark chocolate, rich chocolate chunks, and the signature crumbly texture. The new Fox’s Fabulous Chocolatey Dark Chocolate Rounds, similar to the other Chocolatey Rounds in the range, also has over 70% chocolate with a crumbly shortcake biscuit, generously coated in dark chocolate.

Colin Taylor, Trade Marketing Director at FBC UK comments: “In the biscuit category we are seeing dark chocolate grow in popularity when it comes to premium treats, now the third most popular flavour in the segment[4] with a 9.2% share of Premium Treats value sales[5]. There was no better time for us to sweeten the range with our new flavour and give shoppers a delicious new treat from a brand they know and trust to deliver on taste and quality.”

“We know shoppers are looking for ways to treat themselves, whether that’s over a cuppa, or as an afternoon or evening treat. Our new premium treats will encourage consumers to trade up and help retailers make the most of the category.”

The new Fox’s Fabulous Chocolatey Rounds and Fox’s Fabulous Half Coated Cookies in Dark Chocolate will be launching exclusively into Tesco’s nationwide on the 22nd of July, with shopper support to follow.
