Following the success of last years Packaging Surgery Charpak, again ran the Surgery at this years Packaging Innovations Show at the BDC in London on the 30th September and 1st October 2014.
Charpak have had much success since last years show. ichiban UK who supply Tesco with all of their Sushi have worked with Charpak creating a step change in the packaging. Tesco wanted to revamp the packaging along with exciting new flavours.
Karen Green, Head of Commercial at ichiban says “In developing our sushi packaging for Tesco, Charpak have provided a case study in how to win new business. We had spoken to a number of packaging suppliers who could not translate what we had seen in Japan into something that worked for the British market, Charpak took us through a brilliant process, holding a workshop to generate ideas around the range, visiting the factory, understanding our processes and creating a range that absolutely delighted the customer. Sales are up and we won a Tesco award for innovation. They continue to work with us on our new products and always go the extra mile to help”
As Sales Director Justin Kempson is fond of saying “we buy with our eyes, when a product is shown of to its full potential then sales will follow” Kempson says, “Visibility is the key to selling high quality products especially in ‘food to go’ where time is short to make a decision on what to have for lunch”
The collaboration with ichiban has been just one of the major projects Charpak have taken on since last years Innovations Show.
