- Available from April with Waitrose and Ocado and rolling out in Tesco stores from May
- Hoisin Tofu ready to eat pieces and Quick & Tasty Smoky BBQ Tofu ready to cook block
- The announcement comes hot off the heels of the brand’s full range relaunch and Carbon Neutral certification of all products in January
Cauldron Foods is rolling out two brand new variants of its shopper favourite tofu. Both products will be available in Waitrose stores from this week (4th April), Ocado from 11th April and rolling out into Tesco on 9th May.
Hoisin Tofu (RRP £2.50, 160g) and Quick & Tasty Smoky BBQ Tofu (RRP £2, 220g) launch in response to consumer demand for healthier, more sustainable and convenient products with greater flavour excitement, in order to accelerate the growth of the tofu category.
Tofu is the second most frequently bought and the highest loyalty sector in the meat free category*1, as increasing numbers of shoppers look for healthier and more sustainable ingredients to use when scratch cooking.
“61% of those cooking from scratch more often are trying new recipes and cuisines*2. We know that shoppers love our delicious Cauldron Tofu already and these two formats have been developed by our Senior Development Chef, Stu Henshall, to cater to the growing demand for on-trend flavours in plant based. Research has shown that more than 70% of consumers would buy both new products, so we’re confident that they’ll be a sales driver for retailers within chilled,” says Tom Lindley, Head of Cauldron.
Cauldron’s best-selling range, which is now completely carbon neutral, includes Tofu, Fabulous Falafels and vegetarian lip-smacking Sausages.
