Californian plant-based brand Califia Farms is expanding its range with two new ready to drink cold brew coffees. The Medium Roast Cold Brew and Caramel Oat Cold Brew will be available for consumers to purchase from Sainsbury’s from June of this year. The new launches are designed to capitalise on the explosive growth of cold brew and iced coffee as the market continues to grow at a caffeine fuelled pace.

Medium Roast Cold Brew is a simple cold brew black coffee with 50mg per 100ml of caffeine. Tapping into health-conscious consumers following a diet, the drink contains only 4 calories per 100ml. Appealing to consumers seeking a premium, ready-made cold brew drink to add their own milks or enjoy on the go. Post lockdown, as lives have returned to normal, consumers are seeking out convenient options without compromising on taste and health. Post pandemic, research suggests coffee[1] dominates on the go drink occasions.

The on trend Caramel Oat Cold Brew taps into consumers looking for a little indulgence whilst still prioritising health. With only 4.3g of sugar per 100ml, shoppers can purchase a convenient pre-blended coffee. The drink also contains added calcium and vitamin D, to help support bone and muscle health.

Lauren Visagie, UK Marketing Manager from Califia Farms said: “Our new Cold Brew launches not only tap into the booming iced coffee trend, but now that we are back to working in offices more consumers will be seeking out a convenient on-the-go drink without turning to calorific sugar filled options.”

She continued: “What’s more, the plant-based and vegan industry is continuing to grow, with 44% of Brits aged 25-44 plant-based milk users[2], showing this remains a huge opportunity.”

Continuing its mission to power wellness with responsibly sourced plant-based ingredients, Califia Farms’ new cold brews will join its already extensive range of vegan friendly drinks and milks.
