3 in 5 home-schooling parents say that coffee time is the most precious moment of the day

Due to customer demand, Caffè Nero at-home range launches at Sainsbury’s and Amazon

To celebrate, 1,000 bags of Caffè Nero signature whole or ground coffee beans are up for grabs

With almost 3 in 5 (58% per cent)* of home-schooling parents agreeing** that coffee is one of their most cherished daily rituals – and almost 2 in 5 (39 percent) home-workers who drink coffee, drinking FIVE* or more cups of coffee each day since the start of lockdown 3.0; Caffè Nero is making it even easier for home-bound Brits to purchase the distinctive taste of its signature coffee.

For the first time ever, customers will be able to buy the Caffè Nero at-home range of capsules via Sainsbury’s online and from selected stores from March. Sainsbury’s is the first national retailer to offer the premium at-home range, which includes Caffè Nero’s signature award-winning Classico Original Blend. Bags of the brands signature whole or ground coffee beans are also conveniently available to purchase on Amazon now, to offer even more channels for Caffè Nero fans to get their hands on their favourite coffee. Over the coming months, Caffè Nero plans to add capsules to the Amazon offering, which are made from fully recyclable aluminium.

To celebrate the launch of its at-home range at Sainsbury’s and Amazon, and to support busy parents and homeworkers through the latest lockdown restrictions, Caffè Nero is giving away 1,000 bags of its signature whole or ground coffee beans to brew at home. For the chance to win one of the 1,000 bags, all coffee lovers need to do is enter their contact details on the competition website by 25th February 2021. Winners will be selected at random and full T&Cs can be found on the competition website.

The growth of its channels comes as Caffè Nero saw a whopping 218 per cent sales growth of its at-home coffee range, since the second national lockdown in November 2020. The range includes bags of whole beans and ground coffee and offers the same premium quality that customers have come to know, lovingly blended and roasted at their Roastery and sent directly to customers’ doors.

Will Stratton-Morris, CEO Caffè Nero UK, said: “We know how challenging the situation is for families at the moment and, for many home-schooling parents, having a coffee may be their only chance in the day to pause, take-a-break and have some time to themselves’. We wanted to lend our support in the best way we know how, with free coffee, to help recognise and energize parents and homeworkers through this tricky period.

We’ve seen a surge in sales of our Coffee at Home range through our own website, and huge growth in our in-store Click and Collect service and our at-home delivery service via Uber Eats since they launched last summer. It shows both the high demand for our speciality coffee and the evolving nature of how customers want to buy it. We’re delighted to be extending the availability of our popular at-home range even further with the roll-out to Sainsbury’s and Amazon.”

Caffè Nero’s signature whole or ground coffee beans are available to purchase via Amazon now and its capsules will be available online and in selected Sainsbury’s stores from early March.
