Supermarket shopping has been transformed during this pandemic with all of us frequently using hand sanitiser, wearing masks and store staff cleaning more than they normally would. This has been essential to keep people safe and ensure lives continue as normally as possible. However, people sometimes forget to use gel, cleaning can’t be done continuously and there is an environmental impact with the dramatic increase in the use of chemicals.

London based Veraco believe their products are part of a long-term solution for safe shopping. They have produced a range of Antimicrobial adhesive pads and wraps specifically for supermarkets. Their solutions protect trolleys, baskets, touch screens, scale pads, checkout dividers and any high traffic area touchpoints.

They use ‘Silver Ions’ technology which breaks down the biological make-up of micro-organisms, to stop the spread and reproduction of dangerous pathogens. This technology kills up to 99.99% of common bacteria as well as being effective against Coronavirus. Antimicrobial silver technology is not new and has been used in paints and coatings for hospitals but, until now, no one has produced a versatile range of solutions that can easily be installed anywhere.

Co-Founder George Strong said, “The purpose of this product range is to give people peace of mind that when they go to a supermarket they are walking into a safer environment for them and their families.”

Co-Founder Charles Churchman said, “I think we can all agree that having clean public spaces and touchpoints are now a must-have, not a nice to have”.
