Brioche Pasquier has donated 2.9 tons of its’ brioche products to the Northamptonshire branch of FareShare since the start of the Covid 19 crisis.

The company’s facility at Milton Keynes has been baking at full capacity since February when it became clear that their sweet, long lasting brioche products were going to be a lockdown staple. Demand increased across the country, and even the office staff were recruited in to work in the bakery to help with the emergency effort.

However, the team were keen to make sure that those in need were not forgotton. At the height of the crisis when stocks were low, they baked more brioche especially for donation, and since then, any excess stock has been sent to Fareshare for distribution to local charities. The brioche has provided 6905 meals and been distributed to 469 organisations including refuges, out of school and breakfast clubs and care homes.

“A soon as the first lockdown was announced there was an unprecedented demand for our Brioche Rolls and PITCH products,” says Brioche Pasquier Retail Sales Manager Charlotte Hulbert. “We’ve literally been baking for Britain, trying to keep supplies up so that supermarket shelves are stocked. But we also wanted to make sure that we contributed to the local community”.

Brioche Pasquier is the country’s number one favourite brioche brand* and makers of the popular PITCH brioche snacks as well as Brioche Rolls. The products were particularly in demand during lockdown due to their longevity which makes them a great addition to the store cupboard. This is achieved using their unique and entirely natural starter dough known as ‘levain’, which also adds a distinctive taste.

The brioche will remain fresh for up to 21 days which also adds to its usefulness when it comes to charity donations. Bakery is often a difficult product to distribute as it perishes quickly, however, Brioche Pasquier brioche can be collected and distributed leaving plenty of time for use before it deteriorates.

Brioche Pasquier products are baked from natural, wholesome products like fresh butter and eggs and are free of preservatives, artificial flavours and hydrogenated fats.
