Bonds Confectionery is highlighting its Retro Mixed Bag as the ideal product to meet the increasing demand from retailers buying in stock to cater for consumers looking to stock up on spooky confectionery and trick-or-treat goodies.

Philip Courtenay-Luck explains: “Our 150g Retro Bags are perfect for Trick or Treaters this Halloween. Consumers’ taste-buds are changing, and are looking for more unusual items such as the Jelly Brains, however people still love their traditional and nostalgic treats that remind them of their childhood. The Retro Bags are filled with a huge variety of individually wrapped classics guaranteed to put a smile on all Trick or Treaters’ faces.”

Available in 150 gram bags as a case of 12, and retailing at £1 a bag, the product provides retailers with a dynamic collection of 12 nostalgic favourites exclusively distributed by Bonds. From Swizzles Matlow, Candyland and Golden Casket, the package includes classic sweets such as; Drumstick Lollies, Wham Chews, Milk Chews, Black Jacks, Fruit Salads, Parma Violets, Refreshers, Love Hearts and Double Lollies.

Bonds expect the Retro Sweets to be amongst the most popular of the season due to the rise in demand for nostalgic confectionery. However, for retailers looking for something a little more thematic and gruesome, items which are expected to do well include the Zombies chewing gum from Fini. The ‘super-sour’ bubble-gum balls come in a pack of 200, with great merchandising to make the store look as seasonal as possible. Another seasonal product includes Vidal’s Jelly Filled Brains. Retailing at £5.40, the box of 120 brains is sure to be a surprise for trick-or-treaters.

Another range that is expected to well is that of Haribo’s Halloween Mix and Fangtastics which both come in a pack of 12 and retail at £13.95. The sweets were a definite favourite with consumers last year due to the range of flavours and styles in the 160g packet and are expected to do even better this year.
