Bakers Basco, the equipment recovery agency set up by the UK’s biggest bakeries has created a series of awareness posters to support their national campaign to alert the nation to the issue surrounding the mishandling and abuse of their daily bread supply equipment.

These posters will be used as part of the company’s marketing campaign throughout the year at industry events covering sectors such as festivals, events, recycling, and waste management.

Basco’s general manager, Paul Empson comments, “Following the success of our national appeal back in April we felt we had to exploit that success and carry on the initiative throughout 2022. The poster series seemed a natural way to continue with the message, especially during the festival and outdoor event season.

Basco’s field team will be out and about during this season talking to caterers, recyclers and event organisers reiterating how this equipment (bread baskets and dollies) play a vital role in the supply chain of bakery goods and instilling the importance of reporting any misplaced equipment to the team at Basco so that they can collect and repatriate.

Empson goes on to say, “We are determined to tackle this problem during this year when sustainability is high on the national agenda. It is time to alleviate the illegal recycling issue and by starting dialogue with associations such as Vision:2025 and The Association of Festival Organisers (AFO) we feel we are on the right road to do just that. The green credentials of the bakery industry must remain a core issue for us and other companies like ours.”

If you have any of these trays or you come across them lying around then we urge you to report them to Bakers Basco by calling the helpline: 08000 327323 or email:enquiries@bakersbasco.co.uk
