Award-winning avocado oil brand launches through Vegetarian Express and Classic Fine Foods, as six-figure investment from FMCG investor Giles Brook backs growth and a more sustainable avocado supply chain

Omega Pressery, the UK’s only avocado-oil-focused brand, is launching into foodservice through leading wholesalers Vegetarian Express and Classic Fine Foods, giving chefs and foodservice operators access to its responsibly sourced avocado oil range in formats designed for professional kitchens.

The launch comes as the two-year-old business secures a six-figure investment from FMCG investor Giles Brook, whose previous investments include Vita Coco, Pip & Nut, Surreal and Bio&Me. Brook is joining the business in an advisory role, bringing experience in scaling consumer brands and navigating global agricultural supply chains.

Omega Pressery has grown from around 50 distribution points at launch in 2024 to more than 900 today across retail, foodservice and international markets. Revenue has grown tenfold year on year, with the business on track to surpass £1m in annual recurring revenue before the end of 2026.

For foodservice operators, the proposition goes beyond kitchen performance. As caterers and hospitality businesses face growing expectations around responsible sourcing, and diners increasingly want to know where their food comes from, Omega Pressery offers a transparent sourcing story rooted in its work with smallholder farmers across East Africa.

Versatile, ethical oils for professional kitchens, from high-heat cooking to finishing

Through Vegetarian Express, foodservice operators can access Extra Virgin Avocado Oil 250ml, Light Avocado Oil 5L and Light Avocado Oil Spray 150ml.

Classic Fine Foods stocks Extra Virgin Avocado Oil 250ml, Light Avocado Oil in 1L and 5L formats, and Extra Virgin Macadamia Oil 250ml, offering chefs a choice of oils for different cooking methods and menu applications.

With a neutral flavour and a smoke point of 270°C, Light Avocado Oil is suited to high-heat cooking, frying and other back-of-house applications. Extra Virgin Avocado Oil has a more distinctive flavour and a smoke point of 240°C, making it suitable for cooking, dressings, marinades, drizzling and finishing dishes. Extra Virgin Macadamia Oil offers another flavour option, while the spray format provides convenience for everyday professional kitchen use.

The oils are seed-oil free, minimally processed and contain no blends or fillers, combining practical, superior performance with an alternative to conventional cooking oils.

Nikita Dawda, co-founder of Omega Pressery, said: “Launching into foodservice is a really important next step for us. We’ve spent the last two years building awareness of our award-winning avocado oils with consumers, and now we see a real opportunity to make them more widely used ingredients in professional kitchens.

“Our range offers chefs versatility across the menu, from Light Avocado Oil for high-heat cooking to Extra Virgin Avocado Oil for dressings and finishing. We also want to help foodservice operators offer diners a clearer story about where their ingredients come from, and champion responsibly sourced ingredients.

“Our ambition is to become the home of all things avocado, building demand across the supply chain and creating greater value from fruit that might otherwise go to waste.”

Simon Belfon, Procurement Manager at Vegetarian Express, said: “We’re excited to partner with Omega Pressery, bringing its high-quality avocado oils into foodservice, supporting the demands of busy professional kitchens while building upon our shared commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing.”

Avocado oil category bucks the trend

NIQ data shows avocado oil volume sales grew 28% between April 2024 and April 2026, while sales volumes across other oils declined. Value sales grew by 33% over the same period, compared with just 1% growth across other oils. Yet avocado oil still represents less than 1% of the UK oil market, leaving significant headroom for further adoption across domestic and professional kitchens.

Building on retail momentum

Alongside its foodservice launch, Omega Pressery continues to build its retail presence through listings including Waitrose, Fortnum & Mason, Planet Organic and Ocado. The brand has also repeatedly ranked as the UK’s number one avocado oil seller on Amazon since April 2026. The business now has more than 10 SKUs across Extra Virgin, Light, Organic and spray formats, with foodservice creating another route to market.

Building a more responsible and sustainable avocado supply chain

Omega Pressery works with more than 3,000 smallholder farmers across East Africa, including Kenya and Uganda, with Tanzania planned as a future sourcing market. Women account for the majority of the farmers it works with, and the business pays above market rates to encourage farmers to harvest fruit at peak ripeness to maintain quality.

More than four million Grade B avocados were turned into oil by Omega Pressery and its pressing partners last year. Often overlooked by conventional retail despite being suitable for processing, this fruit can provide additional value within the avocado supply chain while helping reduce food waste.

Production by-products are also repurposed for uses including animal feed, manure and biofuel briquettes, helping make better use of the crop.
