• New kit landing in 109 stores
  • All items under £1.00
  • Market leading croissant prices at only 53p

Asda has announced the introduction of a new single serve pastry & cakes offering within its bakery department. This has initially launched in 109 stores across the country and is offering customers the chance to grab and go a variety of baked goods from as little as 38p.

The new fixture will cater for breakfast, lunch and afternoon treats. With some new delicious flavours and new and improved favourites, freshly baked each morning.

Customers will spot the new and improved All Butter Croissants and Pain Au Chocolat, and familiar favourites Cinnamon Swirl and Pain Au Raisin at a new market leading price of only 53p. This is cheaper than a well-known supermarket bakery and up to 80% cheaper than high street equivalents who can charge up to £2.80 per croissant.

As well as the classics, new products will also be available. Leaning into the trend for savoury pastries, the retailer is also launching a Pesto and Parmesan Swirl and a Cheese Croissant both for just 77p, proving a pastry is not just for breakfast!

For those looking for an indulgent sweet treat, the limited-edition Sicilian Lemon Danish with meringue topping or the on trend Biscoff Croissant fit the bill and at an incredible price of 53p each they won’t break the bank either!

To celebrate the launch, Asda commissioned a giant version of their all-butter croissant, after research showed 46%* would be put off purchasing a croissant due to the product being too expensive. The giant pastry is 5 times bigger than standard to highlight how much croissant you could get at Asda compared to a standard sized on at some high street retailers, costing close to £3.00.

Lauren Severn, Instore Morning Goods Buyer at Asda said“With the growing demand for food on the go, we’re excited to launch a wide variety of delicious, sweet and savoury single serve pastries in 109 stores. Whether customers are popping in for a mid-morning snack or afternoon pick-me up, we have an extensive range of great quality products at outstanding market leading prices, now that’s Asda Price!”

The pastry fixture is live now across 109 Asda stores. Customers should follow their nose to the bakery department to pick up their favourite baked goods now.
