• Asda marks the 10-year anniversary of stocking Arla Farmers Milk across its stores
  • The initiative has generated more than £7m in additional returns for Arla farmer owners since launch
  • Shoppers have helped provide extra support to farmers, alongside Asda’s long-standing partnership with Arla

Asda is celebrating 10 years of stocking Arla Farmers Milk, marking a decade of giving shoppers the opportunity to provide additional support to dairy farmers through their everyday milk purchases.

Since launching in 2016, sales of Arla Farmers Milk have generated more than £7 million in additional returns for Arla farmers. For every bottle sold, an additional 25p is returned to Arla Foods’ farmer-owned cooperative, providing extra support for farmers.

The milestone reflects not only the success of Arla Farmers Milk, but also the strength of the long-standing partnership between Asda and Arla. Over more than a decade, the retailer has worked with Arla to support farmers, while giving shoppers a clear and transparent way to contribute additional support through their purchase of Farmers Milk.

Rebecca Stanton, Business Unit Director – Chilled said: “We’re incredibly proud to celebrate 10 years of Arla Farmers Milk at Asda. Thanks to the support of our customers, the partnership has returned more than £7 million to Arla farmers, demonstrating the positive impact long-term partnerships can have on British dairy farming. It’s a fantastic milestone for Asda, Arla and the farmers who supply our milk.”

Jonathan Dixon, SVP of sales for Arla Foods UK, comments: “As a farmer-owned cooperative, creating value for our farmer owners is at the heart of everything we do. For 10 years, Arla Farmers Milk has given Asda shoppers a clear and simple way to provide additional support to farmers through their purchase. The fact that this has generated more than £7 million in additional returns over the past decade is something we are incredibly proud of, and demonstrates the value of long-term partnerships between farmers, retailers and shoppers.”

The milestone comes as Asda continues the rollout of Daisy the Cow across its estate, after the iconic 90s in-store character recently returned to stores as part of the retailer’s programme to enhance the in-store experience and drive engagement within key categories.

Arla Farmers Milk is sold in both Whole and Semi-Skimmed 4-pint formats.
