Amazon has announced it is planning 3,000 cashier-less Go stores by 2021. In the face of recent gloom over department stores closing, the move has been seen as evidence that even the likes of Amazon are coming to realise shoppers will always need more options than online-only. Rather than rush online and abandon bricks and mortar, retailers need to experiment to find the right choices for their customers.
