ALL Things Butter has launched the industry’s first and only chocolate butter, expanding on its sweet range following the successful launch of its Cinnamon Bun flavour in May this year, which delivered strong sales within the first 12 weeks.

The All Things Butter Chocolate launch forms part of the homegrown British butter brand’s mission to expand the category with exciting and chef-crafted flavours that create more occasions for butter use in kitchens across the UK. In addition to its two delicious sweet variants, All Things Butter’s range includes classic butters Salted and Unsalted, as well as its favoured Chilli and Garlic & Herb products.

Developed by All Things Butter’s Somerset farm, Brue Valley, along with Great British Bake Off star and equity partner, Ruby Bhogal, this irresistible new flavour masterfully blends rich, velvety chocolate with 100% British cream that’s been twice-churned for extra flavour and creaminess.

The result is a more grown-up take on a classic chocolate spread, and a versatile, convenient ingredient that’s full of flavour for cooking and baking at home.

Toby Hopkinson, co-founder of All Things Butter, said “We’re so proud of our new Chocolate butter innovation, and can’t wait for it to hit the shelves. Flavoured butter is becoming increasingly popular, largely thanks to brands like ours that are changing the way butter is perceived. Butter is no longer an occasional purchase to simply spread onto toast at breakfast; it’s fast becoming a staple ingredient for dishes prepared across all meal times, and the snacks in between, to elevate and add new twists to tried and tested recipes. Our Chocolate butter is luxurious and, with only 17.5g of sugar per pack, it is sure to be a big hit with our growing community and create more flavoured butter fans.”

Ruby Bhogal, Great British Bake Off star and equity partner, said: “This was a really enjoyable product to create with the All Things Butter farm and team… for obvious reasons! When we came up with the idea for a chocolate flavoured butter I thought ‘I can’t believe this doesn’t exist yet’. As a baker I use butter all day long, and having chocolate butter just makes sense.

“It’s super delicious, and of course is ideal for slathering over toast, crumpets or waffles, but what’s most exciting is that it takes the hard work out of baking for people who aren’t pro bakers. It is extremely versatile; add it to batter to make pancakes or croissants with a deep chocolate flavour throughout, use it to create a chocolate crumble or blend it with icing sugar to make a decadent cake frosting. I’ve been experimenting with it to cook seasonal fruit, stirred into porridge or topped onto yoghurt. I can see this being a go-to in many bakers’ ingredients lists because of all the creative possibilities”.

The new All Things Butter Chocolate is rolling out in a 125g format on 9th October, initially exclusively in Waitrose and available from Ocado and additional retailers from November, RRP £2.95.

Carly Stage, Waitrose Buyer for Cheese, Butter, Spreads & Fats, said: “We are so excited to be launching an exclusive Chocolate Butter at Waitrose with All Things Butter on 9th October. Creamy, indulgent and the perfect addition to a weekend brunch, Chocolate Butter tastes incredible spread on a croissant, a piece of toast, or even on a slice of cake! We’re seeing huge demand for flavoured butter with our food loving customers at the moment and this product takes butter to the next level!”
