Supermarket Aldi has just announced the launch of its most decadent, quirky range of hot cross buns to date, landing in stores just in time for Easter. From brand new additions such as an indulgent Nutoka hot cross bun to returning favourites including the sweet Caramelised Biscuit, the choices are a-bun-dant. And even better, Aldi’s hot cross bun range starts from just 16p a bun!   

First up, the long-time Aldi classic Nutoka, beloved by shoppers for being the superior alternative to Nutella, gets an Easter twist. Filled with a delicious mix of chocolate and hazelnut, the NEW Village Bakery Nutoka Hot Cross Buns (£1.25, 4 pack), will satisfy any sweet tooth as a breakfast treat or midday snack. In stores now. 

Also taking the spotlight this Easter are Aldi’s NEW Specially Selected Banoffee Hot Cross Buns (£1.25, 4 pack), making dreams crumb true for those who want to enjoy their favourite British staple in a bun. Packed with delicious caramel fudge pieces and enriched with hints of banana, this new treat has a delicious buttery biscuit taste. In stores now.

For the ultimate combination of fruity and sweet, the NEW Specially Selected Raspberry and White Chocolate Hot Cross Buns (£1.25, 4 pack), are bound to hit the spot. Boasting chunks of creamy white chocolate and raspberries that get better with every bite, this one will have shoppers running to stores. In stores now.

Back by popular demand, are the Village Bakery Caramelised Biscuit Hot Cross Buns (£1.25, 4 pack). Inspired by Biscoff, the deliciously sweet caramel flavour of these buns had the nation going wild last year[i]. In stores from 26th February. Another one of Britain’s favourite flavour combinations, chocolate orange, will also be returning to Aldi in hot cross bun form with the Village Bakery Jaffa Hot Cross Buns (£1.39, 6 pack). The classic Specially Selected Luxury Fruited Hot Cross Buns (4 pack) are packed with sultanas and currant goodness. Now reduced to just 99p a pack (less than 25p per bun) for a limited time only, the butterly delicious, fruited treats scooped up WINNING titles from both BBC Good Food and Olive Magazine – with judges hailing that “you can’t go wrong with these hot cross buns.”

Whilst Aldi’s Village Bakery Fruited Hot Cross Buns (99p, 6 pack) are perfect toasted and slathered in butter for a decadent treat. And finally, for an option that’s budget friendly but still butterly delicious, Aldi’s traditional Everyday Essentials Hot Cross Buns cost just 16p a per bun (65p, four pack). The news comes as Aldi predicts more than 20 million hot cross buns to fly from shelves ahead of Easter Sunday.
