Brand NEW Le Petit Poulet Rosé joins Aldi’s boxed wine range for just £12.49 (1.5L)

Wine expert, Sam Caporn, says boxed wine tastes ‘no different to bottled’, but offers fantastic value and longer freshness

Building on last year’s viral sensation when Aldi introduced Le Petit Poulet Rosé – shoppers will be delighted to hear that the supermarket is upping the ante with a brand-new 1.5L boxed version, offering double the wine for even more summer fun.

Launching in stores on 22nd June, the NEW Le Petit Poulet Rosé Boxed Wine (£12.49, 1.5L) is set to become the ultimate summer drink. With its larger, picnic-perfect format, it’s sure to have wine lovers flocking to Aldi aisles. Shoppers had better be quick, because as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Last summer, the ‘chicken wine’ took social media by storm. From TikTok to Instagram, it became the star of outdoor gatherings and picnic spreads. Aldi’s Le Petit Poulet also sparked a frenzy among shoppers and wine enthusiasts alike. Influencers like @partnerinwine couldn’t stop raving about it to her audience of over 64k followers, cementing its status as a must-have sip of the season, telling shoppers to “run don’t walk” in the caption:

“That’s actually very nice, it’s very drinkable … I’m very pleasantly surprised.”[1]

Delicately pale and bursting with citrus and red berry notes, Le Petit Poulet Rosé offers all the elegance of the sun-drenched vineyards of Provence at a price that’s 19% cheaper than La Vielle Ferme[2]. This crisp, refreshing blush is ideal for creating the perfect aperitif moment whilst soaking up the sun.

Reshaping how we sip, one pour at a time, Sam Caporn, Mistress of Wine, explains why it’s time for the world to embrace the cardboard box and how it’s a great option for summertime sipping:

“Historically, lower quality wines were packaged in boxed format, with the perception being that customers wanted higher volume at a low price – but that’s no longer the case.

“Boxed wines have many advantages. For example, boxed wine can stay fresh for considerably longer than bottled.

“There is usually a price advantage too, as you’re not paying for heavy or expensive glass. And lastly, boxed wine tastes no different to bottled!”

The boxed wine buzz doesn’t stop there. The new Le Petit Poulet Rosé boxed wine joins Aldi’s wider boxed wine line-up, including red, white and rosé:

Cambalala Sauvignon Blanc (£13.99, 2.25L)

This Good Housekeeping approved wine is picnic-perfect, awarded the Best Value Boxed Wine[3] accolade in this year’s Boxed Wine feature.

Costellore Italian Blush (£13.99, 2.25L)

Delightfully pink, this Italian Blush enjoys typical scents of red fruits, defined by hints of violet.

Kooliburra Shiraz (£13.99, 2.25L)

This intense ruby-coloured Shiraz boasts notes of spicy plum with rich and jammy fruit flavours. It’s smooth on the palate with marked persistence.

Costellore Trebbiano Pinot Grigio (£13.99, 2.25L)

Medium-bodied and smooth, this well-balanced Pinot Grigio offers aromas of tropical white fruit and wildflowers.

Say goodbye to the pressure of polishing off a bottle, Aldi’s clever boxed wine range lets savvy sippers enjoy every drop on their own time, staying fresh for weeks without a rush. Charmingly portable and perfect for any on-the-go adventure, Aldi has shoppers’ summer picnic drinks sorted.
