Aldi increased its volume market share of frozen fish and seafood from 12.0% to 14.3% in the 12-week period ending 14th May 2023*.
It now sells more frozen fish than any other retailer in the UK aside from Tesco, overtaking frozen food retailer Iceland which saw its market share reduce from 14.6% to 13.7% in the same time period.
Aldi is the only major retailer to show volume growth in the frozen fish and seafood category, with its volume market share of all frozen products also increasing from 12.0% to 13.4%.
New exciting products at Aldi include Atlantic Salmon Fillets in Sweet Chilli, Lemon and Pepper or Ginger Chilli and Lime Sauces, Garlic and Herb Breaded King Prawns and Salt and Vinegar Fish Goujons.
Last year, Aldi overtook Morrisons to become the UK’s fourth largest supermarket and recently achieved an all-time market share high of 10.1%, according to the latest data from Kantar.
Aldi has also been recognised by Which? as the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket for the past 11 consecutive months, with the latest figures showing Aldi is £18.31 cheaper on a basket of shopping than the most expensive supermarket, Waitrose.
