print-week-2010-awards-076Littlehampton-based label manufacturer AJS Labels is once again celebrating a major win, having scooped the top prize for its customer services in the print industry’s prestigious annual awards ceremony (held on Monday 18th October 2010).

In front of a packed audience of industry peers at London’s glittering Grosvenor House Hotel, AJS Labels’ managing director, Andrew Scrimgeour, collected the trophy for the PrintWeek Customer Service Team of the Year Award from comedian Hugh Dennis, Mock-The-Week regular and star of the hit BBC sit-com Outnumbered.

The West Sussex company beat six other strong nominees to the title, in what the organisers’ described as ‘the most widely-entered and hardest-fought category in the Awards’.

“AJS’ entry perfectly illustrated the win-win approach of providing top-notch customer service,” said the judges, who were overwhelmingly impressed by both the company’s quantitative survey data proving high levels of customer satisfaction and glowing customer testimonials.

“From director to despatch, concept to delivery, we aim to provide our customers with the best service they will ever experience from any supplier of any product or service,” says AJS’ managing director, Andrew Scrimgeour.

Reconnecting with customers in a more intimate way and engaging all the staff in delivering a service that genuinely delights customers has been at the heart of the turnaround of AJS Labels. Formed following a management buyout of AGI Labels, a company with a strong 40-year history, AJS Labels reported a profit in its first year of operation, under the private ownership of Andrew and Jayne Scrimgeour.

AJS Labels has invested heavily in its dedicated Customer Service Team, whose complex role is to combine excellent communication skills, enabling them to liaise with customers, designers, suppliers and colleagues at all levels, from production to sales and finance, with detailed knowledge of all label printing processes.

“Our excellent team can be justifiably proud of all that they have achieved and this award is a public recognition of that achievement,” says Andrew Scrimgeour.

The PrintWeek Customer Service Team of the Year Award 2010 is just the latest in a string of accolades that are testament to AJS Labels’ success, the quality of its products and its service that it is consistently nominated for and wins industry awards.

This new trophy now takes its place in the cabinet alongside those for:

• FlexoTech (industry publication) Combination Printer of the Year (2006)

• Packaging News (industry publication) Label Printer of the Year (2007)

• PrintWeek (industry publication) Label Printer of The Year (2007)

• FlexoTech (industry publication) Label & Tag Printer of the Year (2009)
