Powerful new Mini-tex metal detector is big on performance but small on size.
Leading designer and manufacturer of high quality metal detector systems, Fortress Technology has unveiled its most compact detector yet – available with the option of a 52mm or 109mm size aperture. Believed to be the smallest of its kind currently on the market, the Mini-tex (Mini Vertex) has all the functionality of the company’s successful ‘Phantom’ range yet with a drastically reduced footprint.
Based on the company’s well proven Vertex system aimed at applications involving freefalling product, the Mini-tex was originally developed as an ideal replacement for older models of metal detector, and specially designed to fit in restricted spaces, where most units would be unable to go. As a result, avoiding the need to move or replace other existing machinery and the associated costs.
Despite its ultra slim design, the Mini-tex metal detector achieves the same high sensitivity levels as other ‘Phantom’ models. Using the latest Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to inspect freefalling product at high speeds, this diminutive yet powerful system is capable of detecting the smallest ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants including pieces of wire, shavings and swarf.
As with all the metal detectors in the company’s cutting-edge ‘Phantom’ range, this mini addition is exceptionally reliable yet simple to operate and maintain. It incorporates the same intelligence and functionality to ensure complete product integrity, offering superior accuracy and speed. The mountable remote control box also enables ease of use and set-up.
Typically located between a multi-head weigher and vertical form fill seal (VFFS) machine, product is gravity fed through the detector’s aperture before being sealed in a pouch by a bagger. The system is ideal for metallised film applications, as raw product inspection yields higher sensitivity levels than the limited performance attainable when scanning the finished product within its metallic packaging.
