New series of dining, music, literature and creative experiences launches as UK imports reach 5,701 tonnes, up 11.8% since 2024
Parmigiano Reggiano is bringing a new series of food and cultural experiences to London this autumn through Airbnb Experiences, as continued growth in UK import volumes highlights the cheese’s increasing presence in the market.
UK imports of Parmigiano Reggiano reached 5,701 tonnes in 2026, up 11.8% on 2024 and 0.9% on 2025, when volumes stood at 5,650 tonnes. The latest figures follow growth from 5,099 tonnes in 2024, reflecting continued demand for Parmigiano Reggiano in the UK.
The London programme will bring the cheese into a series of dining, music, literary and creative settings, giving consumers the opportunity to explore its different maturations, flavour profiles and applications.
At the centre of the programme is a new flagship dining experience at Jamie Oliver Catherine St. in Covent Garden, where the restaurant team will create a bespoke menu showcasing Parmigiano Reggiano across a series of British and Italian-influenced dishes.
The menu will explore different maturations and uses of the cheese, with dishes currently being developed including croquettes with 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano, Sardinian culurgiones with 36-month Parmigiano Reggiano, chicken with 60-month Parmigiano Reggiano and a Parmigiano Reggiano panna cotta with figs and aged balsamic.
The experience will launch with an invite-only dinner for press, media, creators and invited guests, followed by five public dinners, each welcoming up to 30 guests and bookable through Airbnb Experiences.
Alongside the flagship dining experience, Parmigiano Reggiano will feature in three further Airbnb Experiences across London:
- Låpsley x Caroline East will combine food, music and storytelling through an intimate supper club series. Caroline will create a menu with Parmigiano Reggiano at its heart, while British artist and producer Låpsley will explore the stories behind the cheese through conversation, music and performance.
- Soho Reading Series with Tom Willis will pair Parmigiano Reggiano tastings with literature and conversation, exploring themes including youth, identity and maturity and drawing parallels with the different maturation periods of the cheese.
- Artist Laxmi Hussain will bring together art, food and storytelling through an evolving still-life experience, where guests can taste different maturations and formats of Parmigiano Reggiano, explore unexpected pairings and contribute to a changing tablescape.
The London programme forms part of Parmigiano Reggiano’s wider international 2026 Airbnb Experiences campaign, following activity in Paris and New York.
The campaign launched in Paris this summer with experiences including pasta making, French baking and an artist-led atelier, before travelling to New York for chef-led dining, Brooklyn supper clubs and a game-day experience inspired by Parmigiano Reggiano’s official partnership with the New York Jets.
London is the final city in the 2026 programme, bringing together food, music, literature and art to highlight the versatility of Parmigiano Reggiano and the range of ways in which the cheese can be enjoyed.
“The continued growth in UK import volumes demonstrates the strength of the market for Parmigiano Reggiano and the opportunities to build further awareness and understanding of the product,” said Carmine Forbuso, Head of Marketing at the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium. “Through the London programme, we wanted to showcase the different maturations, flavours and applications of Parmigiano Reggiano while connecting the cheese with the UK’s wider food and cultural landscape. Working with established names across food, music, literature and art gives us an opportunity to reach consumers in new settings and demonstrate the versatility of the product.”
