Aldi has been named Multiple Fruit & Veg Retailer of the Year at the 2026 FPC Fresh Awards for a second year running.

The award is determined through a combination of consumer voting, input from across the fresh produce industry and assessment by an expert judging panel using market data and sector expertise.

Whilst it is a blended approach to decide the winner, consumer satisfaction heavily weights the final decision via the public vote, where shoppers were asked to judge retailers on choice, value for money, freshness, quality and customer service.

The award comes as Britain’s biggest discounter continues to invest in quality and value across its range, with £340 million invested so far this year to reduce prices on more than 1,000 products.

The retailer is also strengthening its supplier relationships, with a commitment to source at least half of its British produce through long-term supplier agreements by 2027, giving producers and manufacturers greater confidence to invest in capacity and home-grown production.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “This award means so much because it comes from the people who shop with us week in, week out.

“Our suppliers play a huge part in making that possible, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support, particularly during what has been a very challenging year for fresh produce.

“Despite difficult weather conditions, our growers have continued to deliver exceptional quality fruit and vegetables for our customers while working closely with us to maintain the great value we’re known for.

“It’s fantastic recognition of what we and our suppliers work hard to deliver every day: quality fresh produce at prices that work for our customers.”
