7UP, the UK’s number one Lemon & Lime brand[1], is launching its popular 7UP Free Cherry in a 500ml bottle for the first time, to capitalise on the opportunity that on-the-go soft drink occasions represent. The new format will be available from the 7th March, and will be supported with in-store visual assets.
Ben Parker, at home commercial director at Britvic, comments: “The initial roll out of 7UP Free Cherry in take home formats was one of the biggest new product launches in the category over the last two years[2], with the flavour currently worth an impressive £5.7m RSV[3].
“As we head towards the summer months, the new format of 7UP Free Cherry will be a great addition to chillers, particularly alongside meal deals, as carbonated soft drinks are the second-most consumed soft drinks with food out of the home[4]. In fact, our recent research shows that nine out of 10 shoppers say that flavour and taste are key considerations when choosing their on-the-go soft drinks[5]. Seven out of ten also say that sugar content, or lack of, is an important aspect of their choices[6], so 7UP Free Cherry is perfectly placed to meet this demand from on-the-go consumers.”
A wider digital media and out of home campaign, live from May until the end of August, will draw shoppers’ attention to the new format and shine a light on the different flavours available from 7UP, giving them more opportunities to enjoy their favourite lemon and lime brand.
