Wrights, one of the UK’s most beloved bakery businesses, will open a new site in Leicester on Friday 27th March, as part of its strategic expansion into new regions across the UK.
Located at The Stage Services on Leicester Road in Wigston, the new 2,300 sq ft bakery marks Wrights’ 23rd store and ninth franchise operation nationwide.
The site will open from 6am – 7pm Monday – Saturday and 6am – 4pm on Sundays and offer a full range of Wrights’ freshly baked hot savoury pastries, sweet bakery items, freshly made sandwiches and pizza, alongside a 40-seat dining area designed to serve both eat-in and grab-and-go customers.
Founded in Stoke-on-Trent in 1926, Wrights has grown from a regional bakery into a nationally recognised food business with a strong presence across retail, foodservice and its own branded estate.
The Leicester opening forms part of a broader growth plan as it scales its franchise model and expands beyond its West Midlands heartland.

The Leicester opening also coincides with Wrights’ centenary anniversary, which will see a year-long programme of celebrations and investment, including a refresh of its retail estate across Staffordshire, expansion of its store network, community initiatives and the Wrights Roadshow, a tour to key customer events and local shops.
