• Aldi’s whisky collection takes home three golds at this year’s International Spirits Challenge
  • Shoppers can also save an incredible 60% compared to premium brands
  • What’s more, Aldi is launching a brand new £20 own-label peated scotch whisky for Father’s Day – 64% cheaper than rivals

Three of Aldi’s whiskies have been named among the best in the world at an international awards ceremony.

The supermarket’s Glen Marnoch Highland Single Scotch Whisky (£18.49, 70cl), Highland Earl Blended Scotch Whisky (£16.89, 1L) and Samuel Joe’s Straight Kentucky Bourbon (£14.99, 70cl), pipped competitors to the post at the prestigious International Spirits Challenge (ISC).

One Gold in particular, Glen Marnoch Highland Single Scotch Whisky, beat M&S within the Single Malts category as well as premium brand Lochlea Distillery, which comes in at £45. At just £18.49 a bottle, shoppers can save over 60% opting for Aldi’s award winner – that’s premium sipping at purse-friendly prices!

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: “To have won three gold and three silver medals at such a prestigious competition is quite the accolade. This industry recognition helps to prove that great quality doesn’t have to come with a luxury price tag.”

The nation’s cheapest supermarket also took home three silvers for its Highland Black Blended Scotch Whisky (£15.99, 70cl), Glen Marnoch Speyside Single Malt Whisky (£18.49, 70cl) and Glen Marnoch Islay Single Malt Whisky (£18.49, 70cl). The retailer’s whisky range has already been awarded 15 medals at international competitions in the last 12 months. The full list of ISC Whisky winners can be seen here.

Adding to Aldi’s ever-growing trophy cabinet just in time for Father’s Day (16th June), Aldi’s NEW Glen Marnoch Peated Single Malt Whisky (70cl) is landing on shelves nationwide for just £19.99 a bottle – neat stuff.

Available in stores now, the NEW Scotch whisky offers a pleasing aroma of malt, aniseed and lemongrass. Combined with flavours of peat smoke and spice, the whisky leaves a lingering finish that promises to knock Dad off his feet!

There’s no whisky business with this tipple, as shoppers could also bag a saving of £36 (64%) to other competitor brands on the market:
