InPost, the UK’s leading out-of-home parcel locker provider, has partnered with The Football Association (The FA) to offer England Football Accredited grassroots clubs the opportunity to generate additional revenue while providing a convenient new service for the communities they serve by hosting InPost Lockers at their facilities.
Through the partnership, grassroots clubs and County FAs across England will be invited to host a locker on-site at zero cost, enabling them to generate additional revenue from existing space while increasing daily footfall beyond training sessions and matchdays. With more than 15.3 million people[1] engaging with grassroots football across England each year, grassroots clubs represent some of the most active and well-connected community venues in the country.
Grassroots football clubs sit at the heart of communities, often operating as vital local hubs for sport, social activity and events. By hosting an InPost Locker, clubs can attract more visitors to their grounds, encouraging spend across clubhouses, facilities hire and events, while offering players, families and local residents a fast, flexible way to collect, send and return parcels, 24/7.
The partnership will also enable clubs to run community-led activity around each installation, helping to introduce the service to local residents and encourage regular use. InPost and The FA will provide guidance and supporting materials that clubs can adapt locally, allowing them to create campaigns that reflect the needs of their own players, volunteers and neighbourhoods while driving increased engagement with the club throughout the week. An initial cohort of clubs has already begun early engagement to explore how lockers can integrate into their facilities and support local activation.
The programme will be promoted directly to The FA’s network of affiliated clubs and County FAs, giving organisations a simple, fully managed way to diversify income while further strengthening their role as community hubs.
Paul Selvey, Network Director at InPost UK said: “Grassroots football clubs play an essential role in communities across the UK and many are looking for sustainable ways to generate additional income. By installing an InPost Locker, clubs can turn unused space into a service people need every day, increasing footfall, supporting clubhouse revenue and offering local residents a fast, flexible way to collect and send parcels around their schedules. We’re proud to be working with The FA to help clubs unlock new value and reinvest back into the game.”
James Kendall, Director of Football Development at The FA, said: “Beyond delivering exceptional football, grassroots clubs across the country also offer vital community cohesion, acting as vibrant and accessible hubs in their local areas.
Our new partnership with InPost offers clubs the chance to access a new stream of income by installing a locker, boosting their resources whilst benefitting busy communities. We’re looking forward to seeing the impact and opportunities unlocked through the partnership.”
