Republic Technologies (UK) Ltd is unveiling an exciting new range for nation’s favourite matches, Cook’s, with an exclusive listing in Morrisons (200+ stores) hitting stores this month. The launch marks the entrance of the brand into the UK firelighters market.
The move sees the unveiling of seven new products, each backed by its partnership with Daniel Clifford, the two Michelin-starred chef of Midsummer House, Cambridge.
The raft of FSC certified products includes a range of Cook’s-branded Firelighter Cubes. Each product is 100% plant-based, odour free, ignites instantly and is made from wood pulp and vegetable oil, with no palm oil or paraffin used. RRPs are £3.99 (32 cubes), £7.99 (72 cubes) and £9.99 (100 cubes).
Also included in the launch are new Cook’s Firelighters (20 fire starters; RRP £2.99) and FSC Certified Cook’s ‘Wood Wool’ firelighters which are ideal for both wood-burning stoves and BBQs (25 firelighters, RRP £5.99).
Phase two of the NPD programme, expected early 2026, includes a stylish, refillable storage tin for Cook’s Candle Matches, holding up to 100 matches and featuring a replaceable striker paper at the bottom of the tin (RRP £7.99), complemented by a Candle Matches refill pack (RRP £3.49).
“The new Cook’s range offers retailers year-round sales potential,” says Gavin Anderson, Sales and Marketing Director at Republic Technologies (UK) Ltd.
“We’ve seen strong growth in woodburning stove usage during the colder months, when candle use also increases, while in spring and summer customers turn to Cook’s for outdoor gatherings. It’s a reliable, all-season product that keeps sales steady and shelf space working hard throughout the year.”
A branded shipper is available to merchandise Cook’s Matches, Wood Wool, Cubes, Fire Starters and Smaller Cubes.
