Iconic meat SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham made a surprise appearance at ASDA House to celebrate the annual UK’s official SPAM® Appreciation Week, which takes place in early March. This year ASDA staff at the Leeds HQ were treated to various SPAM® snacks, games and even had a chance to have their photo taken in a giant SPAM® can.
Tasty SPAM® snacks served up on the day included SPAM® Fried Rice, SPAM® Fritter Wraps and SPAM® Fries. The delicacies had staff queuing in their droves to enjoy, with many winning limited edition branded merchandise if they were lucky enough to have a secret number under their food pot.
ASDA buyer Kerenha Hart commented: “It was great to host such an iconic brand in our Atrium – there was so much camaraderie and engagement. SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham has a heritage that spans many decades and it’s been a popular staple in our canned aisle for years. Thank you Team SPAM® for a fun filled day!”
SPAM® Appreciation Week brings together fans of all ages, and that was certainly true at ASDA House. Many colleagues were eager to share their memories of enjoying the iconic meat, while others were trying it for the very first time. The unique taste and versatility of SPAM® impressed everyone as staff commented on how good it tasted and how many different ways it can be used, from sandwiches to SPAMBURGER™ creations on the BBQ and even a fried rice dish perfect for sharing with friends and family.
Jelsey Barnes, Sales Manager for SPAM® Brand commented: “ASDA is one of our key customers in the UK and to bring our SPAM® Appreciation Week fun to the atrium at ASDA House felt incredibly special. It was interesting to hear stories and share recipes with staff as they tucked into the delicious food and had a great time having their photo taken in our giant SPAM® can.”
