Not many businesses can lay claim to 50 years in business together, yet this is true of Tesco and TC Cleaning Services, who have successfully grown their business relationship year-on-year and clocked up almost half a century’s worth of cleaning contracts together – which now places TC as the supermarket’s largest contract cleaning company.
THE CHALLENGE
Among its burgeoning portfolio of 995 stores lies a nationwide cleaning mandate that spans the length and breadth of the UK. The sheer volume and geographic scale of the Tesco contract requires TC to utilise its collective expertise in the retail sector; flexibility in dealing with situations as they arise; and operational capabilities to deliver against Tesco’s stringent cleaning objectives – and all on a daily basis while often working in and around the public.
Most Tesco stores have gone through major development at some point that have involved extensive building works, both vertically and externally, and TC staff were required to work around builders’ and the dirt that arises from such projects, while maintaining the professionalism and standards that are expected by Tesco.
OUTCOME
TC works with Tesco on the lion’s share of its cleaning requirements and is excited at the prospect of further strengthening the partnership in the future.
