Biotiful Gut Health, the UK’s No.1 Kefir brand1 and category creator, is expanding into another growing dairy category with the launch of Biotiful Gut Health Kefir Cottage Cheese 3% and 0% fat.
The new range launching in December, introduces UK’s first Kefir Cottage Cheese, combining the high-protein credentials of cottage cheese with Biotiful’s unique blend of billions of live kefir cultures in a single product.
The launch comes as consumer interest in both protein-rich dairy and gut health continues to accelerate. Cottage cheese is one of the fastest-growing dairy categories, with value sales up 54% year-on-year and volumes increasing 29.4%2, creating a significant opportunity for innovation.
Available in 3% and 0% fat variants, Biotiful Kefir Cottage Cheese is made using a simple recipe of high-quality milk, live cultures and a hint of salt. By bringing Kefir’s live cultures into the cottage cheese for the first time, Biotiful is creating a differentiated proposition that responds to growing demand for natural, protein-rich foods with simple ingredients.
The innovation also creates new occasions, offering consumers a versatile ingredient suitable for savoury meals, snacks and recipes as well as traditional morning consumption.
As the brand that pioneered Kefir in the UK and helped transform it into one of dairy’s fastest-growing categories3, Biotiful sees the launch as another step in bringing natural Gut Health benefits into more parts of the dairy aisle.
Alessandra Zehnder, Head of Marketing at Biotiful Gut Health, said:
“Consumers are increasingly looking for foods that deliver more, whether that’s high-quality nutrition, functional benefits or simply greater versatility throughout the day. Cottage cheese is already a popular choice for its naturally high protein content, and we saw an opportunity to bring something completely new to the category.
We’ve developed UK’s first Kefir Cottage Cheese the Biotiful way, staying true to our belief that simple, natural ingredients can deliver both great taste and nutritional benefits. Whether it’s enjoyed at breakfast, as a savoury snack, in a salad or as part of a recipe, it gives consumers more opportunities to incorporate natural Gut Health into their everyday diets.”
Biotiful Kefir Cottage Cheese will launch in December 2026, with distribution expanding across major UK retailers during early 2027.
