The founders of superfood drinks brand, Revibed, have obtained an offer of investment of £50,000 and the backing of Dragons’ Den investor, Steven Bartlett.

Ivor and Eugene Patterson appeared on the latest series of the BBC hit show, which aired on 10th September, to present their alternative drinks brand that was created to encourage people to embrace a healthier and happier lifestyle.

The pitch took an emotional turn when Eugene spoke candidly about the personal challenges the family had faced over the past year, revealing that Ivor had suffered a heart attack in the months before filming, and that the day of the pitch also marked the memorial of Eugene’s late uncle.

Following discussions about the company’s impressive growth to date and current retail listings, the Dragons were given the opportunity to try the products themselves, which led to Steven Bartlett making an offer of £50,000 for a 15% stake in the business.

Ivor and Eugene accepted the investment, which will help Revibed continue to grow within the functional drinks space whilst building a community of healthy and happy customers.

The father and son duo founded the business in their family kitchen, inspired by flavours from their Caribbean roots, such as hibiscus, ginger and lime. What began as a traditional festive drink for family and friends to enjoy became a passion for Eugene, who wanted to share his father’s beloved drink in the UK and beyond.

Speaking about the offer of investment, Eugene Patterson, founder of Revibed, said: “Appearing on Dragons’ Den was an extremely exciting opportunity, and to have secured the backing of Steven Bartlett made it even better.

“Revibed is rooted in family values, and we launched in 2020 with the aim of sharing a positive message while also ensuring the products were healthy for both mind and body, vegan-friendly and low in sugar. Today, we not only offer a range of canned drinks, but superfood powders too.

“We’re tremendously grateful for Steven’s offer of investment, and we have exciting plans in place to bring Revibed to even more consumers across the UK. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

In addition to its three superfood powders, Revibed offers a range of flavoured sparkling waters including Apple & Moringa, Raspberry & Acai, Hibiscus & Peach and Passionfruit & Ginger.

Made in the UK, the Birmingham based company has plans to continue expanding its functional drinks range, with another new retail listing to be announced soon.
