Leading herbal tea brand, Pukka Herbs, is entering the loose-powder matcha market with three new matcha products: Matcha Tulsi Lemon, Matcha Vanilla Chai and Pukka Ceremonial Matcha. The Vanilla Chai and Tulsi Lemon matcha’s are available now via Amazon, Holland & Barrett, Ocado and a selection of health food stores, with the full range rolling out further from October 2026.
The new products are designed to offer a premium, accessible matcha experience for wellness-motivated shoppers and capitalise on one of the fastest-growing segments within green tea. Hot and cold matcha consumption has increased significantly in the UK market, and more than half (53%) of non-matcha drinkers say they are interested in trying it within the next six months[1]. By introducing three new matcha powders to its portfolio, Pukka is unlocking a highly sought-after format for retailers and consumers alike, backed by its credibility as an established brand in the fruit and herbal tea category.
Built on 25 years of herbal expertise and guided by Pukka’s “No Hype. All Herb.” proposition, the range offers a rich, smooth umami flavour and combines organic ceremonial-grade matcha with ingredients from 100% natural origin. Alongside the Pukka Ceremonial offering, which provides a traditional pure matcha drinking experience, the range includes Matcha Vanilla Chai, blending ceremonial-grade matcha with warming chai spices and vanilla notes to deliver a naturally comforting sweetness without the need for added sugar or syrups, helping address consumer barriers around matcha’s perceived earthy taste.
Meanwhile, Matcha Tulsi Lemon combines ceremonial-grade matcha with tulsi, lemon essential oil, spearmint leaf powder, rosemary leaf powder and lemon myrtle leaf powder to create a bright, refreshing and naturally flavourful cup. Featuring matcha made from green tea leaves shade-grown at high altitude before harvest, all three products contain no added sugar and demonstrate how carefully selected herbs and botanicals can provide an enjoyable and more natural flavour experience.
Elle Barker, CMO, UK & Ireland, Lipton Teas and Infusions, said: “Matcha is one of the most exciting growth stories in tea, but until now the category has often felt exclusive or intimidating to new consumers. With Pukka Matcha, we’re combining organic, ceremonial-grade matcha with 25 years of herbal expertise to create a line-up that’s both delicious and accessible. We believe there’s a real opportunity to bring more people into the category by delivering the quality consumers expect organic and ethically sourced ingredients, alongside flavours they’ll genuinely love drinking every day.”
As with all Pukka products, the range reflects the brand’s commitment to trade sustainability. Every product features ethically sourced, organic ingredients packaged in a recyclable tin with a freshness-preserving pouch, providing up to 30 servings. Pukka Matcha is also currently the only matcha in Grocery retail that is both Organic and Fair for Life certified, combining premium quality with responsible sourcing.
The launch will be supported through a fully integrated campaign including in-store activation, immersive sampling events, social media activity, influencer partnerships and PR, helping drive trial and awareness among new and existing matcha drinkers.
The launch also builds on Pukka’s existing matcha offering, extending its established and award-winning Supreme Matcha Green and Mint Matcha Green teas into loose powders for the first time. The ceremonial-grade matcha powders sit alongside Pukka’s large portfolio of fruit and herbal tea d blends to create a complete in-aisle offer, expanding the brand’s presence within the growing matcha segment and wider tea category.
