555 Amanda is expanding its award-winning seafood portfolio with the launch of two new ambient mussel products to the UK retail market: 555 Amanda Mussels in Brine and 555 Amanda Smoked Mussels.

Designed to help retailers capitalise on growing consumer demand for convenient, high-protein seafood, the new range offers shoppers two delicious versatile, ready-to-eat alternatives to traditional canned fish and chilled seafood products.

Available in convenient 200g pots, both products have a 36-month shelf life, require no chilled storage and provide retailers with an opportunity to introduce shoppers to one of the most sustainable and underutilised seafood categories.

As consumers continue to seek healthier meal solutions, premium protein-rich snacking options and globally inspired flavours, ambient seafood is emerging as a growing area of interest. The new mussel range combines convenience, nutrition and premium quality while offering strong shelf-life benefits and reduced waste throughout the supply chain.

555 Amanda Mussels in Brine offer a mild, naturally sweet flavour and tender texture, making them ideal for salads, pasta dishes, seafood platters and light meals. Naturally preserved in brine, they provide a versatile ingredient for consumers looking to incorporate more seafood into everyday cooking.

555 Amanda Smoked Mussels are gently smoked on beechwood and preserved in rapeseed oil, delivering a rich, savoury flavour profile suited to grazing boards, sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes and premium snacking occasions.

The launch comes at a time when retailers are increasingly looking to broaden seafood consumption beyond the UK’s traditional favourites. Industry experts estimate that around 80% of seafood consumption is concentrated within just five species – cod, haddock, salmon, tuna and prawns – highlighting significant opportunities to introduce shoppers to new seafood experiences and drive incremental category growth*.
