The historic Italian brand trades frosted glass for a premium, eco-friendly fluted design, just in time for Limoncello Spritz season

Luxardo, the definitive name in authentic Italian liqueurs, has officially unveiled a striking new look for its beloved Luxardo Limoncello (RRP £21.99, 27% ABV). Dropping just in time for the peak of summer, the brilliant liquid has traded its traditional frosted bottle for a sleek, vertically fluted design that elevates its premium aesthetic while significantly shrinking its carbon footprint.

Crafted using the Luxardo family’s original 1905 recipe, the liquid inside remains the gold standard: a vibrant, all-natural infusion of peels, pulp, and juice from the finest southern Italian lemons. The new reeded glass catches the summer light, hinting at the crisp, sun-drenched liqueur inside, which balances a classic smooth taste with a sophisticated bitter edge.

Whether served ice-cold and neat, topped with tonic for a sharp aperitivo, or built into the ultimate summer Spritz, Luxardo is positioning itself as the must-have bottle for 2026.

Italian Style, Smarter Sustainability

The redesign proves that high end luxury and environmental responsibility can be compatible. By removing the energy intensive chemical frosting process and optimising the structural integrity of the glass, Luxardo has made a major leap forward in eco efficiency.

Nicolò Luxardo says, “In terms of the redesign, the idea was to refresh the packaging while keeping the bottle immediately recognisable as Luxardo Limoncello. The overall shape and label architecture remains very close to the previous version, but we removed the frosted glass finish and introduced vertical fluting to give the bottle a more premium and textured look.

An additional benefit of the redesign is improved packaging efficiency. Based on the LCA assessment carried out by our manufacturer, the new bottle shows measurable reductions across several environmental impact indicators versus the previous version, including lower fossil fuel use, lower CO2 impact and lower water consumption across all formats and configurations. The removal of the frosting process and the optimisation of the glass structure both contributed positively during the evaluation phase, while also simplifying the production process, improving supply chain reliability and helping reduce lead times.”
