- Launch aligns with rising consumer interest in spicy cocktails, up 6% YoY in 2025.

Edinburgh Gin, the No.3 premium gin brand in the UK[3], is bringing a bold new flavour to its portfolio with the launch of Spicy Chilli & Lime Liqueur. The NPD targets growing demand for spicy, citrus-led serves with chilli among the top flavours consumers say they would purchase more frequently[4]. Consumer interest in spicy alcoholic drinks increased by 6% year-on-year in 2025[5] driven by the continued rise of the ‘Spicy Margarita’. The trend is being fuelled by social media and bar culture, as one in four bartenders see spicy flavoured cocktails as an opportunity for growth in 2026[6], creating a strong crossover into at-home consumption.
Crafted at 20% ABV and available in a 500ml bottle (RRP £16.50), the liqueur delivers a balance of zesty lime and warming chilli heat. Designed with versatility in mind, it can be used to recreate trending serves, mixed with soda, or enjoyed as a chilled shot.
This marks a step-change for Edinburgh Gin as it expands beyond traditional flavour profiles and leans into emerging taste trends. The brand will support the launch with a nationwide sampling campaign, a social-first campaign and influencer partnerships, driving awareness and educating consumers on how to re-create bar-quality serves at home.
Galina Grozdanova, Senior Brand Manager at Edinburgh Gin, said: “We’re seeing growing demand for bolder, more adventurous flavour profiles and this new launch offers retailers a fresh way to engage spice-loving consumers seeking more adventurous flavour profiles. We’re bringing that energy into the liqueur category in a way that’s accessible and versatile for consumers. Edinburgh Gin’s Spicy Chilli & Lime Liqueur taps into one of the most talked about cocktail trends – the spicy margarita – and gives retailers a compelling, differentiated option to drive engagement and trade-up within the category.”
Edinburgh Gin’s Spicy Chilli & Lime Liqueur will be available in Tesco stores in Scotland from 20 April, with further retail, on-trade and Amazon listings to follow.
