Eliane Astor, who is the Co-founder of Cidres Wignac, said:
“While the quality of our organic liquid has never been in question, although enchanting – the old branding was tired and didn’t effectively communicate our story, passion, provenance and premium positioning. To this end, we’re delighted to roll out Wignac’s fresh, distinctive yet playful new look. We’re confident it will improve brand visibility, better highlight our unique proposition and provide the foundations to reach new sectors and engage with even more discerning drinkers in the UK and in international markets around the world.”

The Roots of Wignac
Nestled in the luscious Ardennes Forest in Northern France is the ancestorial home of the Wignacourt family – Chateau de Guignicorut sur Vence. During France’s Belle Époque or Beautiful Era, between the end of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871 and the beginning of the first world war in 1914, the chateau and the Ardennes region was rich in apple trees and orchards. These special apple varieties were celebrated locally and used by the Marquise de Wignacourt to make cider for the numerous country goodtime getaways, parties and picnics that were evocative of the period.
With two world wars devastating the region and ravaging its fruit trees, plus the Wignacourt line becoming extinct over the course of the 20th century, descendants of the Marquise de Wignacourt started to revive the orchards and the region’s cider-making tradition in 2015. Aiming to put the Ardennes back on the gastronomic, cultural and natural beauty map, Wignac was launched in 2016 by Edouard de Merode and his sister Eliane Astor (née de Merode), who grew up in the Wignacourt family home.
An organic cider that is a true reflection of the Ardennes, the siblings use a secret family recipe, which utilises a special blend of organic cider and dessert apples. Specifically selecting late apple varieties that are harvested in autumn, the extra time on the trees is crucial to sugar formation, the blend and the final, unique Wignac taste. Exclusively imported by Casa Julia, the Wignac ciders are proudly organic and have successfully passed the CERTISYS – BE-BIO-01 Control. Certified by Ecocert FR-BIO-01. In addition to these organic credentials, the brand has also won numerous awards including a Great Taste Award in 2023.
