Made from slow cooked organic British bones, the new UPF free cubes deliver real depth, flavour, and goodness straight from the freezer
Borough Broth, the British organic bone broth producer, has today launched a Frozen Bone Broth Cube range, offering home cooks a quick and nourishing way to upgrade meals and a healthier alternative to traditional stock cubes.
The broth cubes are made by reducing Borough Broth’s slow cooked, UPF free organic bone broths to a double concentrate, before freezing them into convenient, space saving portions. The result is a freezer friendly cube that delivers real flavour and natural goodness without the additives, ultra processing or high salt levels found in conventional stock cubes.
Available in two flavours, Free Range Organic Chicken Bone Broth Cubes and Grass Fed Organic Beef Bone Broth Cubes, the range is made using bones from organic British chicken and grass-fed cattle, slow cooked for 24 hours to draw out depth, richness, and nourishment.
Borough Broth’s frozen bone broth cubes are suitable for a wide range of everyday uses, from midweek meals to slow cooked dishes, as well as being a simple way to add richness and build depth at the base of a dish. They can also be used in reductions, gravies, and slow cooked sauces, or stirred through classics like bolognese, adding an extra layer of savoury intensity without overpowering the meal.
Unlike many traditional stock cubes, which rely on flavourings and preservatives, Borough Broth’s cubes are made from real broth and retain naturally occurring collagen. The beef broth cubes contain a typical collagen content of 4.78g per 100g, 0.96g per 20g serving, while the chicken broth cubes contain 2.19g per 100g, 0.44g per 20g serving.
Commenting on the launch, Ros Heathcote, Founder and CEO of Borough Broth, said: “Consumers are making healthier choices more than ever, reducing their UPF intake and selecting the best ingredients they can afford. We’ve created these delicious broth cubes for home cooks to upgrade everyday meals, whether they’re cooking for themselves or for family. It’s for everyone who wants the ease of a stock cube, without compromising on the contents or flavour, with very little space requirement in the freezer.
“Traditional stock cubes can be highly processed, very salty, and often contain very little real meat. Many also rely on yeast extract and other flavour enhancers that fall into the ultra-processed category. We wanted to offer something different; a broth cube made from real slow cooked bones that delivers on flavour and increases home cooks confidence in producing chef style dishes. We’re incredibly proud of the result, a cube made from real broth, ultra slow cooked, and frozen at its best.”
The launch reflects Borough Broth’s continued focus on helping people cook nourishing food more easily, while staying true to its organic, clean label and slow cooked principles.
