Harry Brompton’s is launching Matcha Mango & Lime, a new British Brewed Iced Tea that takes matcha out of the coffee shop and into everyday refreshment.
The new variant rolls out across major retailers in the coming weeks, available in the chiller and as part of meal deals alongside the current Iced Tea range.
Matcha has exploded in the UK. A recent poll of 200 London-based consumers aged 18-44 found that nearly 90% had drunk matcha in the past six months- proof that it’s gone from niche to mainstream fast.
Currently most matcha drinks in the UK have been built around milk, which makes them heavier and more indulgent. Harry Brompton’s Matcha Mango & Lime does something different. It treats matcha as what it actually is: Tea. Organic matcha is blended with bright Kenyan green tea, ripe mango and a sharp hit of lime to create something genuinely refreshing and light.
“We saw an opportunity to reposition matcha,” said Ian O’Donohue, Founder of Harry Brompton’s. “By brewing it and pairing it with mango and lime, we’ve created a matcha drink that’s suited to everyday drinking, not just coffee shop moments.”
The launch taps into a shift among younger adults who want drinks that offer natural energy, lower sugar and balance. Matcha and green tea contain naturally occurring L-theanine, caffeine and antioxidants- known for bringing calm focus and a gentle lift. It’s part of a new wave of “soft functional” drinks, like probiotic sodas, that support the increasing consumer desire for functionality and a healthier lifestyle whilst delivering refreshment.
With 63 mg of naturally occurring caffeine (the same as an espresso) and just 70 calories per bottle, Matcha Mango & Lime is designed for everyday moments; lunch, afternoons, on-the-go.
It joins Harry Brompton’s growing British Brewed Iced Tea range, continuing the brand’s momentum in driving growth in the UK iced tea category through flavour-led innovation and a tea-first approach.
