Striking half-and-half design and dual flavoured cake an exciting first for the specialist bakery

Ahead of the upcoming release of Universal Pictures’ Wicked For Good, the electrifying cinematic finale to the worldwide sensation on 21st November, Finsbury Food Group has created a unique Wicked celebration cake that will have fans spell-bound.

Marking the first time that the blockbuster film has inspired a cake from Finsbury, the striking half-and-half design celebrates the two iconic characters at the heart of Wicked: For Good: with half the cake iced in green for Elphaba and half in pink for Glinda. Not stopping there, Finsbury are defying flavour profiles and illustrating their innovative approach to baking with one side a light and fluffy vanilla sponge and the other a rich and indulgent chocolate cake.

Available in Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s now, the Wicked celebration cake (which serves 20, weighs 1.02kg and RRPs at £16) is set to become a go-to centrepiece for Wicked watch parties, themed gatherings, birthdays and more!

Andrew Scott, Brand Manager at Finsbury Food Group, said: “This is the first time we’ve partnered with Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E) on a Wicked-themed cake, and we’re excited to bring this epic tale to life in bakery form. It’s a cake designed to resonate with a wide fanbase, from those discovering the world of Wicked for the first time through the films, to long-time fans of the Broadway show.”

Scott continued, “We’ve created something truly magical and memorable that feels right at home at any celebration. It’s rare to find a cake that is quite literally two different flavour profiles split right down the middle, but it felt like the perfect way to pay homage to the central themes of Wicked: For Good and its two leading cast members. We certainly had some fun conjuring up this cake in collaboration with Universal.”

This wickedly good new celebration cake follows the continued success of Finsbury’s 15-year partnership with UP&E, which was renewed earlier this year. Finsbury has helped to bring a whole host of Universal’s much-loved characters, including Illumination’s Minions, Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World and DreamWorks Animation’s Gabby’s Dollhouse to life via tasty and fun cake formats.

Wicked: For Good, the epic conclusion to 2024’s global box office phenomenon, arrives in cinemas on Friday 21 November 2025 giving fans the perfect excuse to mark this moment in edible style.
