KP Snacks is expanding its much-loved Nik Naks brand with the launch of Nik Naks Twisters, the first-ever new shape for the popular brand. Famous for its distinctive knobbly appearance and crunchy texture for more than 40 years, the Nik Naks range is expanding with two new sharing products launched in a twisted, conical shape.
Designed to bring a twist of excitement to Crisps, Snacks & Nuts (CSN), Nik Naks Twisters will launch in its Iconic: Nice ’n’ Spicy flavour and new to market flavour Tangy ’n’ Cheesy. These new products tap into the biggest flavour trends in sharing, with ”dairy” representing the number one flavour in mainstream sharing, and “spicy”, the second biggest flavour[1].
With Nik Naks valued at £46.1m, Twisters is the brand’s first entry into mainstream sharing, the biggest segment in the CSN category overall[2]. As the sharing segment continues to grow strongly at +2.7% YOY, Nik Naks Twisters aims to disrupt the category and attract new shoppers with a fun twist for the brand, and broadly appealing flavours, well suited to sharing occasions.
John McDougall, Nik Naks and Heritage Portfolio Senior Brand Manager, says: “With sharing representing the biggest segment in Crisps and Snacks, and still growing, it’s the perfect time to introduce a bold new product like Nik Naks Twisters. By bringing fan-favourite flavours into a new and exciting format, we’re confident Twisters will deliver incremental growth for the segment, while delighting shoppers with the fun, full-on taste they expect from Nik Naks.”
Nik Naks Twisters will be exclusively available in Sainsbury’s from this month (RRP: £2.50 per 9 x 130g pack).
