HEALTHY meals challenger, The Gym Kitchen, is expanding its macro-counted frozen meals offer across Tesco with three NEW recipes, following the success of the existing range.
Hitting Tesco stores this week, the new line-up includes Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese, Singapore Style Noodles and Meat Feast Pasta. Each generous 400g portion is high in protein, under 400 calories and boasts two of your five-a-day. The meals can also be cooked straight from frozen for added convenience.
Over the last 12 months, The Gym Kitchen has increased sales by 50%, venturing into frozen ready meals, pizzas, ambient pulse and grain pouches – and yogurts and desserts last month.
NPD across multiple categories is a major part of the brand’s growth strategy, bringing a broader target of healthy foodies into The Gym Kitchen offer across different meal occasions.
The brand was awarded a Great Taste Award for its Piri Piri Chicken dish earlier this year and has also been awarded a £100,000 national TV campaign after being selected as a beneficiary of Channel 4’s Black in Business Initiative earlier this month.
Commenting on the launch, Founder, Segun Akinwoleola, said: “We are delighted to land these fantastic NEW frozen lines into Tesco. Keeping our range fresh and on-trend for our consumers is hugely important. This is another step in our journey with more exciting innovation in the pipeline.”
