HEALTHY meals challenger, The Gym Kitchen, has stretched its unique macro-friendly proposition into ambient grains and pulse pouches in Asda.

The Gym Kitchen is targeting lunch and snacking occasions with the perfect balance of quality veggies, pulses and wholegrains that can be enjoyed straight out of the pouch or steamed in the microwave for a tasty, nutritious meal in minutes.

Flavours, which include Piri Piri Grains, Tikka Lentils, Moroccan Grains or BBQ Lentils, are also vegan to open the brand up to more plant-based consumers.

Each 250g pouch promises to go large on flavour, fibre and protein (minimum 20% non-soya), but is naturally low in fat and calories, whilst packing at least one of your five a day.  The pouches can be enjoyed on their own or pimped up with your own favourite additions.

Part of The Black Farmer’s incubator scheme, The Hatchery, the latest launch follows a stretch into frozen earlier this year, with a range of  ready meals and pizzas across Tesco stores in March.

Founder, Segun Akinwoleola, said: “This new range is another exciting step in The Gym Kitchen journey to bring a broader target of healthy foodies into the brand, with an NPD pipeline across both chilled, frozen, ambient and beyond.

“Our mission is to make healthy eating, accessible, affordable and, most importantly, tasty across multiple categories.

“The Gym Kitchen exists because we believe there is a consumer need for convenient meal solutions that focus on health from a broader perspective – not just gym goers. Consumers have multiple needstates when it comes to healthy eating and we cater for them with meal solutions that put taste at the heart of our proposition – whether that’s nutritious, wholesome ingredients, weight loss, muscle gain, reducing calories or macro tracking”.

RRP £2.00 from Asda for 250g pouch.
