The latest IRI data* released in June 2011 shows that Rescue Remedy® is still, by far, the market leader in the Herbal Stress category, two and a half times the share of second place Kalms. Nelsons are also pleased to announce that sales of Rescue Remedy skus including Spray, Dropper, Chewing Gum and Pastilles have increased in value by 14% compared to the same period last year which is helping to counteract their competitors decline in the category.
Part of the RESCUE portfolio are the Rescue Night® products which include Rescue Night Spray, Rescue Night Dropper and new Rescue Night Liquid Melts. These products are driving growth in the Herbal Sleep category (+23% compared to Kalms Sleep at +20%) especially since the launch of Rescue Night Liquid Melts in June 2010. They have contributed greatly to the success of the Rescue Night brand, pushing total sales up 26% from last year.

The introduction of new products such as Rescue Night Liquid Melts and Rescue Chewing Gum has not cannibalised the other products so this shows that consumers are still looking for natural solutions and there is still room for growth in these markets.”
